Founded in 1935 by Abe Schumer, Somerville Lumber Company began as a modest new and reclaimed lumber retailer in nearby Somerville, New Jersey. As the business began to grow, it moved to the current location in Bridgewater. Over the years the family owned company expanded and modernized the facility becoming an award winning operation whose success in based largely on the philosophy of providing outstanding customer service. Today, Somerville Lumber Company encompasses 10 acre building materials division and some of the largest kitchen, baths, doors and window showrooms in the area and a one-of-a-kind outdoor living showroom, The DeckCenter now in 2 locations.
